When Fast and furious 7 released it was said in the rolling stone magazine that it took over the world and finally won the race. This is good as the first film started of in 2001 and 7 films and 13 years later, it is one of the biggest blockbuster box office movies of all time, making around $384 million globally. This film started of as a small american film, wouldn't be aired internationally, the the cast filming the scenes of this franchise of movies all around the world, for example New York , London , Japan and Dubai.
in the fast and furious franchise they have made many action figures and replicas of the cars and objects used within the film, however, since the franchise started of as a 15 rated film they wouldn't have released prized to be in happy meals and other kid based food. After the huge release of fast and furious 6, they made a video game on a variety of consoles based on the film. However, the game was flop and no one liked it, but they made it up for it my making loads of different types of merchandise and other types of advertising, like t-shirts, action figures , posters , bed covers etc.
Sadly after the release of fat an furious 6, a few months later, the main actor in the film Paul walker aka Brian o'Conner passed away in a car accident, and ever since then , awareness for the film has risen a lot, as the fast and furious 7 film was made as a tribute to Paul walker. many tributes had been made as they released songs about him and his sad and unexpected death , along side this, many t-shirts of his memorial and action figures for hm had been a big hit, as he one of the most recognised actors in the film industry worldwide.
In the normal film industry, dangerous stunts are normal performed by going infant of a green screen and using different types of technology to look like they done the stunts in real life, however, in the fast and furious franchise, all of the stunts they do are actually real, for example, the had to drive out of a plane in their cars whilst in the air and parachute down . This took precision timings and different aspects in order to make this happen and make the audience feel as if they are there.
In each fast and furious film they add new people and make a name for them, however, they managed to increase their audience of the franchise as they added Dwayne Johnson into the sequels since fast and furious 5, and in fast and furious 7 they added Jason statham. they also announced that Jason statham would be in fast 8 and many more to come after that.
in terms of advertising and putting all of their names out on the big leagues i that they travel the world din order to make everyone aware of their films, they do live shows, they advertise at concerts etc.
the fast and furious franchise started of with only one producer, in the entire franchise , now we look at fast and furious 7 and they have 3 producers, this points out that their franchise has grow much larger and more people want to get involved with their films as it connects to their audience and their franchise has a lot of potential as teens and children now a days are more interested in cars and racing and action movies in comparison to romantic or comedies. if you go to see in this day, that the majority of comedies now are actually action comedies and arnt just pure funny.
as the fast and furious franchise gradually increased since their first film, every year they have increase their money in worldwide box office. it started of with fast and furious 1 which made $167m and fast and furious 7 made $1.5b. this is pure proof that during their franchise as they have added new people and sadly lost Paul walker, ratings and worldwide views in cinema has increase by an enormous amount.
This films are made by them actually closing down certain streets and the characters driving down them, however, they are fast forwarded as they are not actually going that fast in real life. you can't go cruising down the road at 100mph, so they drive at a safe speed, and make the camera and other effects speed it up to make it look like they are driving at 100mph approximately.
they have also announced that the franchise will still continue despite the passing of Paul walker and they plan to make up to 10 fast and furious films. As paul walker has passed away, the role of brian o conner has been given to his brother cody, because of this, they have to use cgi to make it look like Cody is Paul, in order to intrigue the audiences more as everyone misses paul walker and are sad for his death.
